THE STORY – HOW YOU MET AND THE PROPOSAL
Reggie and I met in May, 2009 at a yard sale at my mother’s house. He rode up on a motorcycle, offered to take me for a ride and we have been on a great adventure ever since! He had been telling me for months, “I could be the love of your life!” His sweet proposal in March 2010, confirmed that I was the love of his life. Truer words have never been spoken.
THE WEDDING – WEDDING THEME + OVERAL VISION
Reggie lived in George and I lived in VA. We were planning a wedding in September, 2010. He called me on Friday, May 28 and said, I don’t want to wait to marry you. See if Pastor Eddie can marry us Sunday afternoon. He could and we were! My children, my pastor and his wife were our guests. Because we has already started planning for September 3, we kept our impromptu wedding a secret and had a grand celebration in September as planned. It wasn’t until May 2011 on our first year anniversary that we told my Mom and his parents and the rest of our family. Wish you could have seen their faces!! Our wedding theme was sapphire blue- blue to match Reggie’s beautiful eyes, my favorite gem, and the water that both of us love to be near. Simple elegance was our vision and it was perfection!
MOST MEMORABLE – FAVORITE MOMENTS + FAMILY TRADITIONS
Surprising our families on our one year anniversary was the best! At the September ‘wedding’, my son, Jarrett, wearing his Army greens, gave me away (again) and Reggie’s 9 year old grandson, his best man, stole the show with his dance moves!! My daughter and best friend were bridesmaids and Reggie’s son and grandson were groomsmen. Our pastor used the same personalized ceremony from March and Reggie cried (again) when he promised to love me “till death over takes me and we part.” Reggie’s 83 year old mother and 87 year old father danced along with the guests and my 82 year old mother danced with each of her 4 grandsons. It was a perfect night!
