BRIDE AND GROOM

MOST MEMORABLE – FAVORITE MOMENTS + FAMILY TRADITIONS
Our wedding was at history rich venue, the Planters Club in Suffolk. Our ceremony was held outside over looking the river and was performed by the father of the Bride, Skip Geisaka. The reception was held inside of the Planters club immediately following the ceremony.
We had a lot of vintage features to our wedding and a touch of 1920’s Gatsby glam. We even did a choreographed version of the Charleston for our first dance. The decorations and many other features of our wedding were DIY.
We used old doors that we found and hinged together as our alter, a hanging lantern as our unity candle and an old 1920’s barrel as our cake table.
We had alternatives to flowers for all the bouquets and boutonnieres (pictured).
My bouquet was made out of brooches that I received from all of the special women in my life and they were presented to me at my bridal shower. We created an arch over the entrance way to the reception using paper flowers that we made using a variety of folding techniques (pictured).
We also included many personalized details that reflected us our and families. We hung pictures of us at different ages on the end of each row going aisle on both the brides side and grooms side. We had pictures of to remember our grandparents who are no longer with us. We had a cookie bar filled with all different kinds of cookies made by my grandma, aunts and great aunt.
We had a DIY Photobooth using an ipad that was a huge hit and the favors were wine glasses that we had painted the stem and foot with chalkboard paint so that the guests could use chalk to write their name on their glass.
The guests absolutely loved the venue, decorations and personal touches and everyone danced the night away! A special moment was at the end of the night when guests were given glow sticks on the dance floor and after the last song played they shut off all the lights for our color sendoff.
